India is among the countries whose citizens need a visa to enter Vietnam. However, getting a Vietnamese visa has become easier thanks to the e-Visa system, now open to all nationalities (including Indians).
🛂 How to Apply for a Vietnam e-Visa
Here’s a step-by-step process:
- Go to the Official Portal – Click this official site and register all details with Visa fee.
- Fill out the Application Form – Provide personal details, passport information, intended dates of stay, and entry/exit points, and upload your passport scan and a recent photo.
- Pay the Visa Fee – Use the online payment gateway. The amount is non-refundable even if your application is rejected. Fee – USD 25 for a single entry / USD 50 for multiple entries.
- Wait for Processing – Usually 3–7 working days. You’ll receive an approval or result notification via email (or the portal).
- Print the e-Visa – After approval, print a copy of your e-Visa and carry it along with your passport while traveling. You’ll present it at immigration upon arrival.
- Entry to Vietnam – Show your printed e-Visa and passport to immigration officers. No visa-on-arrival queues.
Special Cases & Exceptions
Phu Quoc Visa Exemption: If you only enter and exit Vietnam via Phu Quoc Island (i.e., fly to Phu Quoc first, then leave Vietnam from there, not entering the mainland), there is a visa exemption for many nationalities (including Indians). You may be allowed a 30-day stay without a visa when your itinerary is limited to Phu Quoc. Fly directly to Phu Quoc for this exemption.
