Kulcha – a special North Indian style of bread made from fine flour and yeast. Then it is stuffed with special stuffings and cooked in Tandoor style of oven. Kulcha King in UAE has 9 outlets and I tried it in Flora Hotel outlet at Al Barsha which is having awesome Kulchas, Biryanis and Kebabs.  Also on Friday, this special outlet of Kulcha King at Flora Hotel hosts Lunch Buffet for 49AED only.

I have tried the Discovery Garden one and so referring that to you all.  If you love Indian sweets(Mithai), savory snacks (Namkeens), Indian Street food (Chaats) then go for this. They also provide delicious Indian breakfast early in the morning.

TIPS TO BE CONSIDERED – MINI GUIDE TO INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN DUBAI

  • It is better to book tables in advance, especially on weekends to avoid huge rush and queues.
  • Some restaurants have Valet Parking, so call them before.
  • There are a lot of spices in Indian cuisine and so before ordering check with your waiter for Very spicy, Medium(Normal) Spicy, and Less Spicy.
  • You can find a lot of vegetarian varieties in all Indian Restaurants as vegetarianism is very common in the Indian lifestyle.
  • For the Fine Dining restaurants category, check deals on Groupon or Entertainer. They offer discounts on many credit cards also.

  3. That’s an impressive range of Indian cuisine that is available in Dubai. Particularly love the sound of the Mithai shop Puranmal. We are visiting Dubai for first time in a couple of months time so I will keep this list to hand for our time there!

  4. Really helpful.. not only for Indians who live are having plans to visit UAE , but also for everyone who has developed taste buds for Indian cuisines. From your list, I personally like Rajdhani as I am fond of Rajasthani food.. Gharana seems to come up with Royal ambience.

  5. I’ve been in Dubai for over 7 years myself and I’m Indian but I hardly explore Indian cuisine outside! I feel like I can make better Indian food at home myself haha. But for street food such as bhel puri etc, I love Puranmal! I used to have one in my office building earlier and ended up having snacks there every evening. Yellow Chilli by Sanjeev Kapoor was another one I tried with my mom, she was quite happy! You didn’t feature Asha’s, I’ve heard that is also quite good, though I haven’t tried it yet. I’d probably take my relatives to Gharana or Mumtaz for their Ghazal singers, I’m sure they’d appreciate that.

  28. Woohoo, I love Indian food and I’m going to be stopping in Dubai for a couple of nights in the new year. So excited to find this. If you had to choose just one of these, which one would you recommend?

    1. All restaurants are having unique amenities, it now depends what you prefer like superb views, location , rich ambiance or live music. I prefer all and visit them regularly as per my mood that day.

  30. Wow this post is going to be so helpful, especially for vegetarian Indians when they visit Dubai! Love that there are so many options there in the Indian cuisine (although i love arabian cuisine as well). I would love to try out Gharaana, more for the ambiance and performance.

  31. It’s always nice to be able to find a taste of home in other countries. Traveling is amazing, as are new cuisines. But sometimes you just need something a bit more “comfortable” in your belly. A great overview of the Indian options in Dubai!

  32. I’m glad I can ask the level of spiciness as I’m a complete spice wimp! Saying that, I like the look of the Peppermill restaurant the most, mainly from the photo you posted! Also, Ushna sounds like a romantic place for dinner, and also a chance to try some North Indian cuisine too.

  33. I’m not very familiar with the different Indian cuisines but I’m not surprised that there are so many Indian restaurants in Dubai. Very smart move to locate so many of the restaurants near or at tourist destinations. I love spicy food but good to know to specify the level of heat when ordering. All the dishes look delicious!

  34. I love the different flavors of India but slightly prefer the North Indian Cuisine. I actually visited Zafran during my last Dubai visit and loved it. All the other restaurants look amazing too. I guess next time I visit, I won’t have wonder where to eat. Thanks for these suggestions.
