  1. Great choices for weekend road trips from Dubai! I have done some of them but not to Ras Al Khaimah, and Liwa. I love your pictures. Hatta Dam and Hajar Mountains look beautiful! My favorite road trip was to Fujeirah. 🙂

  2. This was a very informative post. Had no idea there were so many interesting things to do in UAE. It’s one of the places I would love to visit.

  3. There was so much to do in Dubai, we only did one excursion for a night in the desert. But great to know that there are so many options for day trips from Dubai! I would definitely want to visit the Hajjar area. So fascinating to find large water reserves in such a desert area. But then a green oasis like Al Ain might also be fascinating. The beaches in Dubai were jam packed. Maybe a visit to Marjan Island for the beach might be better. I will keep this post for a return visit. And plan more day trips!

    1. You would love some offbeat day trips from Dubai as they are very less crowded and very beautiful with unique natural landscape too.

  4. I’m amazed at how much there is to do when you travel just a short distance from Dubai! The deserts are mesmerising. I’d love to do some of these activities, although camels don’t particularly like me from past experience!

  5. This post makes me so nostalgic. Having spent my childhood here, I did manage to get to most of these places. In fact all, save the lake. I have some wonderful memories of Hatta and Khor Fakkan. I loved the beach in the latter the most. Thanks for sharing this

    1. Now these places have developed a lot as compared to your childhood, like having world’s longest zipline, adventurous trails and hikes surrounding these natural places.

  6. So interesting. Never knew about these weekend trips from Dubai. Certainly changes how I think about a trip to Dubai. Liwa desert and other places look great.
